PESB Recommends Chandrasekharan Raghuram as CMD of Hindustan Shipyard Limited
In all, ten candidates were interviewed for the top post
Public Sector Headhunter – The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Mr. Chandrasekharan Raghuram for appointment as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), a Schedule ‘B’ Central Public Sector Undertaking.
The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 6 of 2026, held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Currently serving as Assistant Chief of Material in the Indian Navy, Mr. Raghuram emerged as the top candidate following a detailed selection process involving comprehensive interviews and assessment of professional credentials, leadership capabilities, and overall suitability in line with prescribed government norms.

- Mr. Vivek Kumar, Cement Corporation of India Limited
- Commander Ajay Zadoo, Central Warehousing Corporation
- Mr. Himangshu Chakrabarty, THDC India Limited
- Mr. Tarun Kumar Chopra, Indian Oil Corporation Limited
- Rear Admiral T. V. N. Prasanna, National Security Council Secretariat
After evaluating all candidates, PESB recommended Mr. Raghuram as the most suitable for leading HSL, citing his extensive experience, strategic leadership exposure, and strong technical background.
The appointment will take effect subject to approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
