PNB Soldierathon 2026 Unites Over 27,000 Runners, Pays Tribute to Indian Armed Forces
This year’s marathon also commemorated the success of Operation Sindoor, symbolising the indomitable courage and dedication of India’s soldiers

Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of India’s leading public sector banks, witnessed an overwhelming nationwide response to its flagship fitness initiative—PNB Soldierathon 2026, bringing together over 27,000 participants in a grand celebration of fitness, unity, and patriotism.
Organised in association with the Indian Armed Forces under the theme “Run with Soldiers – Run for Soldiers,” the marathon emerged as one of the country’s largest running events. The initiative united soldiers, athletes, fitness enthusiasts, PNB employees, and citizens from across India, supported by more than 1,500 volunteers.
The event was ceremonially flagged off at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium by distinguished dignitaries including Vijay Kumar Singh, Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, M. Nagaraju, and Ashok Chandra, along with senior leadership of PNB.
A Tribute to Courage and National Unity
Commending the initiative, Governor Vijay Kumar Singh described the event as a “tremendous success”, highlighting the remarkable participation and applauding PNB for promoting health, discipline, and community engagement on such a large scale.
Chief of Naval Staff Dinesh Kumar Tripathi emphasized that events like Soldierathon not only encourage fitness but also serve as a powerful tribute to the courage and sacrifice of India’s Armed Forces, reflecting unity, resilience, and national pride.
Echoing similar sentiments, DFS Secretary M. Nagaraju noted that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening national consciousness and civil-military connect.
PNB’s Legacy of Nation-Building
Highlighting the bank’s legacy, PNB MD & CEO Ashok Chandra stated that the institution, founded by Lala Lajpat Rai, continues to uphold its commitment to nation-building through meaningful initiatives like the Soldierathon.
This year’s marathon also commemorated the success of Operation Sindoor, symbolising the indomitable courage and dedication of India’s soldiers.
Winners Shine Across Categories
In the competitive segment:
- Satyam secured first place in the men’s 21.1K race
- Neeta Rani topped the women’s 21.1K category
- Gaurav won the men’s 10K race
- Sanjana Singh led the women’s 10K category
Aligned with Fit India Movement
The marathon aligns with the Government of India’s flagship Fit India Movement, reinforcing the importance of physical fitness and collective well-being.
Expanding its reach nationwide, PNB also organised a Virtual Marathon, encouraging participation from employees across branches and verticals under the spirit of “One Team, One Marathon.”

Following the success of its inaugural edition in 2025, Soldierathon 2026 marks a significant leap in scale and impact. With participation from thousands across the country, the event reflects India’s rapidly growing fitness culture combined with patriotic spirit, making it a unique platform that celebrates both health and national pride.
