Ramakrishnan Chander Takes Charge as Managing Director of LIC

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has announced the appointment of Ramakrishnan Chander as its new Managing Director, effective December 1, 2025. Prior to this elevation, Chander held the positions of Executive Director (Investment – Front Office) and Chief Investment Officer, roles he relinquished upon assuming charge as MD.
LIC stated that his term will continue until his superannuation on September 30, 2027, or until further orders. The corporation has also submitted the mandatory disclosures under Regulation 30, with details made available on its official website.
Chander brings over 35 years of experience to the position. He joined LIC in 1990 as an Assistant Administrative Officer and has since served in diverse leadership roles across the organisation, including Senior Divisional Manager, Regional Manager (Marketing), Regional Manager (P&GS), and Executive Director of International Operations, before moving to lead investment operations.
His extensive background in marketing, international business, and investment management positions him as a strategic leader as LIC continues to strengthen its operational and financial performance.
