Right Time To Start A New Chapter In Defence Sector & Ministry – AIDEF To Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh
This is the time to start meeting employees representatives regularly and to solve their problems
Rajnath Singh has once again assumed the office of Defence minister of India. He was the Defence Minister in the NDA .02 Government also. During his tenure as Defence Minister, major policy decisions like Corporatization of Ordnance Factories, Agnipath & Agniveer, Formation of High Level Committee for Restructuring and Reforming DRDO and also the most Controversial Essential Defence Services Act 2021 which has banned any strike in the Defence Establishments etc., were taken. The employee’s Organizations of the Defence Civilian Employees numbering about 4 Lakh were in on war path against the above policy decisions taken by the NDA .02 Government.
The AIDEF, the major Federation of the Defence Civilian employees has challenged the EDSA 2021 in the Delhi High Court and decision of Corporatization of Ordnance Factories in the Madras High Court. The Government informed the Delhi High Court that they will not further extend the EDSA 2021 and with that assurance of the Government Delhi High Court disposed of the Petition of AIDEF. However, petition of AIDEF against Corporatization of Ordnance Factories is still pending in the Madras High Court. In this back ground today when Rajnath Singh has assumed the office of Raksha Mantri, S N Pathak, President of AIDEF and C Srikumar, General Secretary of AIDEF have forwarded a message to him. In their message they have asked Rajnath Singh to open a new chapter in the Ministry of Defence by meeting the employees representatives regularly and to settle their problems. In their message they have charged that the Defence Civilian Employees and their interest are always neglected by the Defence Ministry.
