RINL Presents Drinking Water Tanker To GVMC Under Corporate Environment Responsibility Initiative

B. Sanyasi Naidu, Zonal Commissioner, (Zone-6) GVMC received the water tanker on behalf of Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation

At a function held at GVMC Water Pump House, Aganampudi, today, RINL presented a water tanker of 6000 litres capacity to Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC), Visakhapatnam for supply of drinking water in Rehabilitation (RH) colonies in the areas of Gajuwaka and Aganampudi under RINL Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER) initiative.

Shri Pravin Kumar, CGM (Services) RINL presented the keys of the water tanker on behalf of RINL to Shri B. Sanyasi Naidu, Zonal Commissioner, (Zone-6) GVMC received the water tanker on behalf of GVMC.

Water is a fundamental human need and access to clean drinking water is one of the prerequisite for a healthy life. Many villages are deprived of safe drinking water either due to lack of water resources or polluted/fluorinated groundwater or depleted groundwater levels. RINL has been in the forefront in terms of providing potable water in the surrounding villages of Plant as well as other villages of Visakhapatnam to address the health needs and thereby improve their quality of life. The new water tanker presented by RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam steel plant to GVMC will help in supplying potable water to about one lakh residents in RH (rehabilitation) colonies and in the areas of Gajuwaka and Aganampudi.

Thanking the noble gesture of RINL management, Shri B Sanyasi Naidu, Zonal Commissioner, GVMC (Zone-6) said that the help extended by RINL by way of water tanker will help in quenching the thirst of thousands of people in around 16 panchayats in and around Visakhapatnam steel plant and Gazuwaka. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Pravin Kumar, CGM (Services) RINL said that inspite of severe financial crisis, RINL will always be in the forefront to help the needy and underprivileged in the society through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Corporate Environment Responsibility CER initiatives.

The program was also graced by Shri P.Kanaka Rao, Executive Engineer (water supply), GVMC, Shri T. Rajkumar, AE (Water supply), GVMC, senior officials from HR, CSR departments of RINL, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
