SAIL Employees To Get Pending Arrears Today
Employees of the Steel PSU had been waiting for wage revision for 58 months
Almost 55 thousand workers and thousands of officers of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) are expected to receive arrears in their bank accounts today. The demand of wage revision of SAIL employees was pending since a long time . The MoU signed between the top management of SAIL and representatives of the unions, has been approved by the Board of SAIL and been sent to Steel Ministry for its final nod. The Steel Ministry is expected to clear this proposal today itself.
The final round of meeting regarding wage revision of SAIL employees was held at Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi on October 21 and 22, and while three unions agreed to the final draft of the wage revision, two unions were opposed to this. But as majority prevailed, it was okayed and sent to the Board of SAIL which approved it to be sent to the Steel Ministry. Once, this is approved by the Ministry today, employees and officers of the Steel PSU would get their dues in their bank accounts today, i.e. one day before the festival of lights – Diwali.
