‘Sarv Kalyan Kendra’ Inaugurated At NTPC Unchahar On May Day

Announcement of special initiative—basic education classes for daily workers of NTPC Unchahar

On the occasion of May Day, the Priyadarshini Ladies Club (PDLC), NTPC Unchahar, inaugurated the newly developed ‘Sarv Kalyan Kendra’—a centre dedicated to the welfare and upliftment of needy people.

The building was inaugurated by Abhay Kumar Srivastava, Executive Director and Head of Project, NTPC Unchahar, through a hawan ceremony and with the blessings of Lord Ganesha. The event was organised under the guidance of Smt. Anupama Srivastava, President, PDLC, and graced by Asutosh Biswas, GM (O&M), along with other senior officials and PDLC members.

On this occasion, Smt. Anupama Srivastava announced the launch of a special initiative—basic education classes for daily workers of NTPC Unchahar. These classes aim to empower workers, especially female workers, by imparting essential skills such as signing documents, form filling, and basic grammar and communication skills.

She emphasised that this effort by PDLC is aligned with NTPC’s vision of inclusive growth and will help underprivileged adult workers become more confident and self-reliant in their daily lives. The classes will be held daily for one and a half hours, with a focus on all workers from the plant.

During the event, workers involved in the construction of the ‘Sarv Kalyan Kendra’ were honoured by Abhay Kumar Srivastava and Smt. Anupama Srivastava, Asutosh Biswas and Smt. Jhumita Biswas for their contribution.

The newly inaugurated building will serve as a hub for various welfare programmes, training sessions and community development activities, further strengthening NTPC Unchahar’s commitment to holistic employee well-being.
