SCOPE Holds Strategic Discussion with ILO & IOE

Meeting focuses on capacity building, skill development, and responsible business practices through global collaboration

In a significant move to strengthen global employer relations, the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) held a strategic meeting with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Organisation of Employers (IOE).

Mr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman, SCOPE and CMD, NBCC, along with Mr. Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE, engaged in meaningful discussions with Mr. Roberto Suárez Santos, Secretary General, IOE (Geneva); Ms. Michiko Miyamoto, Director, ILO South Asia; and Mr. Ravindra Peiris, Senior Specialist, ILO. The meeting also saw the presence of senior representatives from both SCOPE and ILO.

The deliberations emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to build the capacities of Indian employers, particularly through micro-credentials, skill development, and greater emphasis on just transition and responsible business conduct. Both ILO and IOE extended their commitment to support SCOPE in expanding and strengthening its membership base through regular and result-oriented engagements.

This dialogue marks a step forward in aligning India’s public sector employer practices with global standards and fostering responsible and inclusive growth.
