SEA and NCOA Leaders Meet Union Minister of State for Steel to Raise RINL Issues

The Minister assured the delegation that their suggestions would be considered and appropriate action would be taken soon

Leaders of the Visakhapatnam Steel Executives Association (SEA) and the National Confederation of Officers Association (NCOA) today met Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries, Bhupatiraju Srinivas Varma, to highlight critical issues affecting the RINL Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

The delegation was led by SEA President Katam SS Chandra Rao, General Secretary KVD Prasad, and NCOA Chief Patron VK Tomar.

They urged the Minister to address several pressing concerns, including:

  • Appointment of a full-fledged Chairman and Directors for RINL
  • Bringing plant management under the control of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL)
  • Resolving unwarranted changes, suspensions, and issuance of show-cause notices
  • Scrapping the linking of salaries to production, which violates government regulations
  • Addressing the withholding of promotions, which is causing talent drain
  • Reviewing the decision to start the third blast furnace without sufficient raw materials
  • Ensuring immediate payment of dues to retirees and VRS beneficiaries

Minister Varma assured the delegation that their suggestions would be considered and appropriate action would be taken soon.
