SEA, SEFI Leadership Calls on In-Charge CMD RINL Manish Raj Gupta
The SEA expressed confidence that Gupta’s vast experience and technical leadership would contribute positively towards addressing RINL’s challenges

The Steel Executives Association (SEA) General Secretary KVD Prasad, along with SEFI Chairman Narendra Kumar Banchhor, Vice Chairman Narendra Singh, and General Secretary Sanjay Arya, called on the newly appointed In-Charge Chairman & Managing Director of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Manish Raj Gupta, at his office at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
During the interaction, the SEA leadership congratulated Gupta on assuming the additional charge and discussed key operational challenges being faced by the plant. The SEA General Secretary urged the In-Charge CMD to take urgent and necessary measures for improvement of plant equipment, ensuring uninterrupted raw material supply, and addressing manpower-related issues to stabilise and enhance operational performance at the earliest.
Manish Raj Gupta is currently serving as Director (Technical, Projects & Raw Materials) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and has been entrusted with the additional charge of CMD, RINL.
Gupta assumed charge as Director (Technical, Projects & Raw Materials), SAIL, on 13 January 2025. A Mechanical Engineering graduate from MANIT Bhopal, he joined SAIL in 1991 as a Management Trainee (Technical) at Durgapur Steel Plant. With over three decades of rich experience in the steel sector, he has served across various SAIL plants and units, earning recognition for his strong technical acumen, operational excellence, and leadership capabilities.
During his long tenure at Durgapur Steel Plant, Gupta played a crucial role in enhancing efficiency and safety in the Steel Melting Shop. In 2019, he was appointed Chief General Manager at Bokaro Steel Plant, where he spearheaded key technology upgrades and was actively involved in major modernisation initiatives. Subsequently, as Executive Director (Works) at IISCO Steel Plant, he focused on sustainability initiatives, cost optimisation, and operational improvements.
