HYDERABAD
Dated: 20th December, 2024

To
Shri Anumula Revanth Reddy ji
Honourable Chief Minister
Government of Telangana

Subject: Request for Enhancement of Medical Facilities and Pension for Retired Singareni Employees

Respected Sir,

We, the retired employees of Singareni Collieries, are grateful for the continuous and commendable efforts of the Government of Telangana towards the welfare of its citizens. The government’s commitment to the development and well-being of the state is truly inspiring, and we appreciate the positive changes that have been brought about for various sectors.

In line with these efforts, we wish to bring to your attention an issue that requires immediate reform for the benefit of retired Singareni employees.

On 7th October 2024, during the distribution of special incentive cheques at Praja Bhavan, all Honourable Legislators from the coal belt region raised concerns regarding the pension and medical facilities for retired Singareni employees. Specifically, the Honourable MLA of Chennur, Dr. Vivek Venkataswamy, highlighted the need for an enhancement in the pensions of retired Singareni employees, while Honourable Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, emphasized the importance of increasing the current CPRMS medical insurance coverage from 8 lakhs to 10 lakhs.

We would like to further request that medical facilities be made available for retired Singareni employees residing in Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Mancherial, and other areas. Ensuring access to medical assistance in these locations would alleviate the burden of traveling long distances to corporate hospitals, thus reducing both the financial and logistical strain on retired employees.

In view of these considerations, we respectfully request your kind intervention to direct the CMD of SCCL to implement the following measures:

  1. Increase the medical insurance coverage to 10 lakhs, as suggested by the Honourable Deputy Chief Minister.
  2. Extend medical facilities to the various locations in the coal belt region, as well as major cities such as Hyderabad, to better serve retired Singareni employees.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. We remain hopeful for a positive resolution and sincerely request your support in addressing these concerns.

Yours faithfully,

DANDAMRAJ RAMCHANDER RAO
PRESIDENT, Singareni retired employees Welfare Association Kapra Hyderabad
