Sivasubramanian Ramann Assumes Charge as Chairperson of PFRDA
Ramann is an officer of the 1991 batch of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS)

Sivasubramanian Ramann today assumed charge as Chairperson of the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA). His appointment, notified by the Government of India on April 8, 2025, is for a term of five years from the date of assumption of charge or until he attains the age of 65 years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
An officer of the 1991 batch of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS), Ramann brings with him a wealth of experience across key financial and regulatory institutions. Prior to this role, he served as Deputy Comptroller & Auditor General and Chief Technology Officer in the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
He has held several senior leadership positions including Chairman & Managing Director of SIDBI, MD & CEO of National E-Governance Services Ltd. (NeSL), and Principal Accountant General of Jharkhand. Between 2006 and 2013, he also served at SEBI as Chief General Manager and later as Executive Director.
Ramann holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA from the University of Delhi. He also has an M.Sc. in Financial Regulation from the London School of Economics, an LLB, and a Chief Digital Officer certification from ISB. In addition, he holds the Certified Internal Auditor credential from IIA, Florida, and a PG Diploma in Securities Law.
With his diverse experience in public finance, regulation, and technology, Ramann is expected to lead PFRDA in further strengthening India’s pension sector and advancing retirement security for citizens.
