Subhankar Sen Assumes Charge As Director (Marketing) At BPCL

Veteran Leader to Drive BPCL’s Customer-Centric and Sustainable Growth Vision

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Fortune Global 500 and Maharatna company, has announced the appointment of Subhankar Sen as its new Director (Marketing).

A veteran of BPCL, Sen brings over 30 years of extensive experience across key business verticals within the organization. Known for driving strategic transformation, customer-centric innovation, and sustainable growth initiatives, his elevation to the board comes at a time when BPCL is rapidly advancing toward a digitally enabled and green future.

In his previous role as Business Head – Retail (West), Sen spearheaded a major revamp of retail operations, introducing digital-first services and launching BeCafe, a modern café experience at fuel stations. He has been instrumental in expanding BPCL’s MAK Lubricants brand across India and international markets including UAE, Africa, and South Asia, while promoting indigenization in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission.

Sen has also played a key role in the development of flagship customer engagement platforms such as Pure for Sure, Speed, PetroBonus, SmartFleet, BPCL-SBI Card, In&Out stores, and UFill. His efforts in fostering cross-sector partnerships in banking, QSR, and the automotive industry have strengthened BPCL’s market relevance and consumer reach.

As Oil Industry Coordinator, Sen championed the rollout of Doorstep Diesel Delivery and the eDrive initiative for EV Fast Charging Corridors, reinforcing BPCL’s support for India’s clean mobility goals.

Recognized for his people-first leadership and agility in navigating dynamic markets, Sen’s appointment is expected to provide strong momentum to BPCL’s marketing and innovation agenda.
