Toppers To Be Honored As DM And SP For A Day; ‘River Festival’ To Celebrate And Conserve State’s Lifelines
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Launches Dual Initiatives in Education and Environmental Protection

In a unique and inspiring initiative, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced two major programs aimed at encouraging academic excellence and promoting environmental awareness in the state.
As part of an innovative move in the field of education, the Chief Minister has directed that toppers of High School and Intermediate examinations in every district will be given the opportunity to serve as symbolic District Magistrates (DM) and Superintendents of Police (SP) for a day. This motivational program is designed to provide meritorious students with firsthand administrative exposure, boost their confidence, and inspire them to aspire for leadership roles in the future. A detailed action plan for the implementation of this scheme is currently being prepared.
Simultaneously, emphasizing the importance of river conservation, CM Dhami has instructed the organization of ‘River Festivals’ in the name of major rivers of Uttarakhand. These festivals will be conducted through public participation and aim to transform river cleanliness, sanitation, revival, and conservation into a people’s movement.
“The rivers of our state are not merely water sources, they are the lifelines of our culture and traditions,” said the Chief Minister. “Through these festivals, we aim to spread awareness among citizens about the critical need for water conservation and cleanliness.”
These dual initiatives of the Dhami government stand as a testimony to the state’s commitment to both academic encouragement and environmental sustainability, blending tradition with modern governance to build a better future for the youth and the ecosystem.
