Grand Celebration of ‘Tribal Pride Year-2025’ at CCL Headquarters Marks 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda

A grand celebration was organized today at the Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) Headquarters, Ranchi, to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji under the ongoing ‘Tribal Pride Year-2025’, being observed from January 1 to November 15, 2025.
The event began in a traditional manner with the lighting of lamps and a ceremonial welcome of dignitaries. Members of the CCL Sarna Committee greeted the chief guests — Pawan Kumar Mishra, Director (Finance); Harsh Nath Mishra, Director (HR); and Chandra Shekhar Tiwari, Director (Technical/Operations) — with the traditional Sarna Gamchha.

Distinguished guests Dr. Manoj Agariya, Nodal Officer, Jharkhand State Open University, Ranchi, and Premchand Oraon, Assistant Professor, Kartik Oraon College, Gumla, also graced the occasion. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Preeti Tigga from Gandhinagar Hospital.
Addressing the gathering, Director (Finance) Pawan Kumar Mishra said, “Tribal traditions are an invaluable asset to Indian culture. The Government of India is celebrating the ‘Tribal Pride Year Fortnight’ from November 1st to 15th so that the country can remember the contributions of brave sons like Birsa Munda.”
Director (Human Resources) Harsh Nath Mishra paid homage to the revered tribal leader, stating, “Lord Birsa Munda’s life is an inspiration for today’s youth, embodying self-defense, self-reliance, and self-respect. His legacy continues to guide us in the path of courage and integrity.” He also extended his warm wishes to all on the occasion of Jharkhand Foundation Day.
Director (Technical/Operations) C.S. Tiwari remarked, “Jharkhand is a land of greenery and rich tribal culture. Birsa Munda sacrificed his life to free the country from British rule. He earned divine reverence by awakening the spirit of freedom in tribal society.”
