Union Bank of India Organizes Financial Inclusion Saturation and Awareness Camp at Vilachery, Madurai

Loan sanction letters distributed, digital fraud prevention awareness and skit performed by bank staff

Union Bank of India conducted a Financial Inclusion Saturation and Awareness Camp at Vilachery, a village in Madurai district renowned for its traditional doll-making. The camp was inaugurated by Ramasubramanian S, Executive Director, Union Bank of India, in the presence of Srinivasan, General Manager, Reserve Bank of India. Also present were S. A. Rajakumar, Zonal Head, Coimbatore Zone, and Sabumon M. S., Regional Head, Madurai Region. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents.

The initiative is part of the nationwide Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign launched by the Department of Financial Services for Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies, running from July 1 to September 30, 2025. The campaign focuses on opening bank accounts under PMJDY, increasing enrolments in PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, and creating awareness on digital fraud prevention.

During the camp, Ramasubramanian S and Srinivasan walked through the village streets, pasting “Saturated” stickers on households fully covered under financial inclusion schemes. They also interacted with villagers on the importance of financial literacy. Loan sanction letters were distributed to beneficiaries, and a financial awareness skit was performed by bank staff to engage the community.
