Union Bank Of India Ranks 2nd Runner-up In EASE 7.0 Reforms Index For FY 2024–25

Union Bank of India, one of the country’s leading public sector banks, has been recognized as the 2nd Runner-up in the EASE 7.0 Reforms Index for the financial year 2024–25. The Bank also emerged as a top performer in three key themes under the EASE 7.0 Reforms Agenda:
- 1st Position: Banking towards Viksit Bharat
- 1st Runner-up: Effective Risk/Fraud Management, Collections and Recovery
- 1st Runner-up: Developing Employees for Emerging Banking Priorities
The award was conferred by M. Nagaraju, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, at a citation ceremony organized by the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) in Mumbai on 3rd July 2025.
The Enhanced Access & Service Excellence (EASE) initiative, led by the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, is a flagship reform programme aimed at driving efficiency, technology adoption, and customer-centric practices across Public Sector Banks.

- Excellence in Customer Service
- Adoption of New-Age Technology
- Effective Risk/Fraud Management, Collections, and Recovery

Union Bank of India demonstrated notable strengths in several performance areas, including:

- Availability of AI-conducive policies and governance frameworks
- Deployment of advanced analytics for pre-delinquency customer engagement
- Mechanisms to monitor and improve branch-level customer experience
- Digital portals for tracking legal proceedings and Online OTS (One-Time Settlement) with advanced functionalities
- High degree of digitization in staff loan management
