Union Bank of India Wins 16th NCPEDP-Mphasis Universal Design Awards 2025 for Inclusive Digital Innovation

Union Bank of India has been honored with the 16th NCPEDP-Mphasis Universal Design Awards 2025 under the Role Model Companies and Organizations category for its pioneering efforts in advancing digital accessibility.
The recognition comes for the Bank’s inclusive innovations such as its Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) App, an Accessible Digital Library for Employees with Disabilities, its corporate website designed as per WCAG global accessibility standards, and its holistic accessibility initiative, Union Access.
The award was presented by Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Government of India, and received on behalf of the Bank by Sanjay Narayan, Chief General Manager & Zonal Head, Delhi, and Jithender Maniram, General Manager, Department of Information Technology, Central Office, Mumbai, at a ceremony held in New Delhi.
Instituted by NCPEDP and Mphasis, the Universal Design Awards celebrate individuals and organizations who have made outstanding contributions towards creating universally designed and inclusive environments for people with disabilities.
