Grounding of ₹1 Lakh Crore Investments Celebrated in Rudrapur, Paves Way for Over 80,000 Jobs

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah lauded the Pushkar Singh Dhami-led Uttarakhand government for its transparent, swift, and visionary approach to governance during the Uttarakhand Investment Festival 2025, held in Rudrapur on Saturday. The event marked the successful grounding of over ₹1 lakh crore worth of investments following the Global Investors Summit (GIS) held in December 2023, positioning Uttarakhand as a rising hub of industrial growth.

In his address, Amit Shah hailed the Dhami administration’s accomplishment in bringing on-ground investment from MoUs signed during GIS 2023 and emphasized that 81,000 direct jobs have already been created, with over 2.5 lakh more expected through ancillary industries.

“This is not just a state-level success but a contribution to Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. A developed India is not possible without a developed Uttarakhand,” Shah said.

Dhami Government Applauded for Ground-Level Execution
Shah credited the state’s success to its effective execution, stating that the MoUs worth ₹3.56 lakh crore are now being translated into reality. He noted that investment is reaching even Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns, balancing development with environmental sustainability. He reiterated the Centre’s full support to Uttarakhand’s development push.

Central Support Quadrupled Under Modi Government
Amit Shah outlined the extensive support Uttarakhand has received from the Centre, including:
- ₹1.86 lakh crore in assistance (3.5x more than previous governments)
- ₹31,000 crore for roads
- ₹40,000 crore for railways
- ₹100 crore for airports
He emphasized that such support is transforming Uttarakhand into a year-round destination for tourism, wellness, and industry.

Key Inaugurations and Foundation Stone Layings Worth ₹1,342 Cr
Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation for 20 major projects worth ₹1,342.84 crore, including:
- District Jail Pithoragarh (₹34.49 cr)
- Government Polytechnic Buildings in Champawat and Tanakpur
- Bus Terminal Development in Haldwani (₹378.35 cr)
- Drinking Water System in Tanakpur (₹171.54 cr)
- Working Women Hostel in Udham Singh Nagar (₹126 cr)
- Establishment of a Homeopathic Medical College in Dehradun (₹71.58 cr)
- Several police department residential and non-residential buildings

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said Uttarakhand is emerging as a top destination for investment and innovation.

“More than ₹1 lakh crore worth of MoUs have been grounded. This reflects Uttarakhand’s potential, entrepreneurial spirit, and inclusive development,” Dhami said.
