Union Leaders Meet Raksha Mantri To Discuss Increase In Pension and Promotions of Defence PSU Employees
Union Leader demanded employees of Ordnance Factories who were government employees till 1 October 2021, should be given status of government employees till the date of their retirement
A joint delegation of the National Federation of Government Employees and the Public Sector Employees National Confederation met the Hon’ble Defense Minister at his residence in his office today on June 29, 2024. Various problems of Defense PSUs were discussed, including increase in pension of employees, promotions.
The Government Employees National Federation and the Indian Defense Workers Union drew the attention of the Honorable Defense Minister and demanded that all the employees of the Ordnance Factories who were government employees till 1 October 2021, should be given the status of government employees till the date of their retirement like Prasar Bharati. And all the facilities available to government employees like medical, pension, promotion etc. should be provided. He was also reminded that in the petition filed by the Indian Defense Workers Union in the Delhi High Court, the Defense Ministry has given an assurance in writing to protect the service conditions of the employees. The time has come to fulfill it.
The minister assured the delegation that injustice will not be done to the employees. The employees have been provided workload on the demand of BPMS and it will be provided in future too. He said that our government did the work of bringing all the non-core items into the core group. He also said that our government is determined to make our country self-reliant in defence production. Regarding ordnance factories, he said that all the companies are doing very good work.
The number of employees and officers in DGQA should be maintained according to the suggestions given during NPC. Under HAL, the pension share of employees is 7% and that of officers is 10%. Pension should be determined by making equal deductions for officers and employees. The minimum pension should not be less than Rs. 9000.
The delegation included Sadhu Singh, Mukesh Kumar Singh, Maruti Pawar, Suresh Yadav, Sarvjeet Singh, Shri Bengal Rao, J Sridhar, N Srinanayak etc.
