Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Inaugurates Ericsson’s First India-Made Antenna Facility At VVDN Innovation Park
Ericsson advances local antenna ecosystem in India with first export-ready antennas for high-performing networks

Union Minister of Communications and DONER, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, today inaugurated Ericsson’s first India-based antenna manufacturing facility at VVDN’s Global Innovation Park in Manesar. The facility marks a significant milestone in India’s journey toward becoming a global telecom manufacturing hub.
Speaking at the event, Scindia described the launch as a “pivotal moment in India’s digital and manufacturing journey,” emphasizing the convergence of global technology with Indian innovation. “This facility will power the networks of tomorrow and connect millions across the globe,” he stated.
Aligned with the Government’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make for the World’ vision, the state-of-the-art facility will manufacture export-ready passive antennas built to meet stringent domestic and international standards. Shipments are set to begin in July 2025.
The facility, developed in collaboration with VVDN Technologies, will localize over 50% of passive antenna production for the Indian market, reinforcing India’s role as a reliable global manufacturing and innovation partner.

Minister Scindia highlighted the transformative impact of global tech investments from companies like Ericsson, Apple, and Qualcomm in advancing India’s telecom capabilities and workforce. He credited policy reforms, including the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, for catalyzing ₹4,000 crore in investment and creating over 34,000 jobs.
Ericsson’s Head of Antenna Systems, Mikael Eriksson, underscored the company’s long-term commitment to Indian talent and innovation, stating: “We are committed to building a full-spectrum antenna ecosystem here.”
Initiatives such as Ericsson’s Global AI Accelerator in Bengaluru and the Department of Telecommunications’ 5G Use Case Labs continue to empower thousands of students and engineers, further integrating India into the global telecom value chain.
