Uttarakhand CM Conducts Aerial Survey Of Flood-Hit Uttarkashi

CM Dhami goes on jungle safari to promote Eco-Tourism in Corbett National Park

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an aerial survey of disaster-affected areas in Uttarkashi district today following heavy rainfall that triggered floods and landslides in several parts of the region. The Chief Minister reviewed the ground situation and ongoing relief and rescue operations, reiterating the government’s commitment to ensuring swift and effective assistance to the affected communities.

Dhami emphasized that there should be no shortage of essential supplies and directed officials to expedite rescue efforts, provide shelter and medical aid, and restore connectivity in the affected regions. “The state government stands firmly with every citizen in this hour of crisis,” he said.

Earlier, the Chief Minister undertook a jungle safari in the world-renowned Corbett National Park, where he experienced the rich biodiversity and scenic beauty of the forest. Calling it a thrilling and humbling experience, he remarked, “This safari was not just a glimpse of nature’s splendor but also a moment to connect with the environment and appreciate the invaluable heritage of wildlife.”

Highlighting the rise in eco-tourism, he noted that sustained efforts by the state government have given a new identity to jungle safari tourism in Uttarakhand. “A growing number of tourists from across India and abroad are visiting, which is boosting the tourism-driven economy and opening new avenues of livelihood for local communities,” he added.

In a symbolic gesture under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, more than 1,000 saplings were planted with the joint efforts of the Forest Department, local residents, and environmental enthusiasts. The Chief Minister said the initiative is a heartfelt tribute to motherhood and nature.

He also met with Forest Department personnel and commended their dedication toward conserving forests and wildlife. “Your work is crucial for maintaining Uttarakhand’s greenery and ecological balance,” he told the team.
