Ahead of the Char Dham Yatra, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami made a surprise visit to the Yatra Transit Camp and Registration Office in Rishikesh to review the preparedness and ensure smooth arrangements for pilgrims. Emphasizing a seamless and safe pilgrimage experience, the Chief Minister stated, “We have to make the journey successful by becoming an ally of the passengers.”

During the inspection, CM Dhami assessed facilities including registration counters, travel inquiry desks, a medical center, police help desk, and the lost and found center. He directed that the registration system should operate 24/7 and proposed a single-window helpdesk integrating services from departments such as transport, health, tourism, and electricity.

To enhance the pilgrim experience, the transit camp will feature LED screens showcasing Ramayana, Mahabharata, devotional bhajans, Char Dham stories, and weather updates. Dhami stressed crowd management and traffic control through a special action plan, and called for adequate cooling arrangements, clean drinking water, shaded seating areas, and essential medicines at the medical unit.

The Chief Minister further instructed that local products from Uttarakhand should be sold within the premises and promotional materials for Char Dham and other tourist spots be made available at the reception. He also interacted with on-ground staff, encouraging them to treat devotees with warmth and support.

Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey informed that 24 registration counters, a reserve team, a 24-hour medical facility, and a public address system are in place. A media center, Yatri Mitras for assistance, and free refreshments provided by NGOs are also being arranged. Additionally, the facility includes four dormitories with 80 beds and a canteen.
