Flower and Honey Policy to be Announced Soon

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the “e-Rupi” digital payment system along with four major agricultural policies at the Secretariat on Saturday. These initiatives aim to transform the state’s agricultural landscape and provide farmers with modern tools, financial benefits, and enhanced income opportunities.

Key Launches:

e-Rupi System: A digital platform for transparent, middleman-free subsidies delivered through SMS or QR-based vouchers directly to farmers’ mobiles. Farmers can use these vouchers at authorized centers for fertilizers, seeds, and medicines.

Four Agricultural Policies:

  • Kiwi Policy
  • Dragon Fruit Policy
  • Apple Post-Harvest Management Plan
  • Millet Mission

CM Dhami’s Remarks:

The Chief Minister emphasized that these schemes will address migration by boosting agricultural employment and productivity, especially in hilly and plain regions. He directed officials to conduct village-level training programs to ensure farmers can fully utilize the new e-Rupi system.

A Flower Policy and Honey Policy are under preparation to further strengthen Uttarakhand’s agri-sector.

Policy Highlights:

Kiwi Policy

  • Budget: ₹894 crore
  • Target Area: 3,500 hectares over 6 years
  • Expected Output: 14,000 metric tonnes annually
  • Beneficiaries: 9,000 farmers

Dragon Fruit Policy

  • Budget: ₹15 crore
  • Target Area: 228 acres
  • Production Target: 350 metric tonnes
  • Focus: Small and medium farmers

Apple Post-Harvest Management

  • Budget: ₹144.55 crore
  • Target: 5,000 hectares under high-density horticulture
  • Infrastructure: 22 CA storage and sorting/grading units
  • Subsidy: Up to 50% for individuals, 70% for farmer groups

Millet Mission

  • Budget: ₹135 crore
  • Coverage: 70,000 hectares across 68 development blocks in two phases
  • Subsidies: Up to 80% investment subsidy
  • Incentives: ₹4,000/hectare (row sowing), ₹2,000/hectare (other methods), ₹300/quintal bonus on purchase

These landmark steps are expected to play a pivotal role in making Uttarakhand a self-reliant, prosperous, and progressive agricultural state.
