Vigilance Department Of RINL Organizes Gram Sabha To Promote Anti-Corruption Measures

As part of the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Campaign from 16th August to 15th November, 2023, the Vigilance Department of RINL, organized a Gram Sabha at Zilla Parishad high school of Dharmarayudu Peta village, Ravada Gram Panchayat, Paravada Mandalam, with the aim of sensitizing the public about the importance of fighting corruption and the steps being taken to ensure eradicate corruption.

Shri K Venu, GM (Vigilance), RINL and Shri Jonsu Babu, Sr. Manager (Vigilance) RINL sensitized villagers on the occasion regarding anti-corruption measures and their implementation.

RINL, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has always been committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency. The Gram Sabha, held was an essential part of their ongoing efforts to engage with the community and spread awareness about the detrimental effects of corruption on society. The event was well-attended by the local residents, officials, and representatives from RINL.

The Vigilance Department of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has taken a proactive step towards fostering awareness on anti-corruption measures within local communities.

The Gram Sabha featured informative sessions and discussions about various aspects of anti-corruption measures, including:

  1. Preventive Measures: The Vigilance Department emphasized the importance of preventive measures to curb corruption at its root, including transparency in processes, robust grievance mechanisms, and the promotion of ethical conduct in everyday life.
  2. Whistleblower Protection: The department highlighted the significance of safeguarding whistleblowers who report corrupt practices. They assured the community that every effort is made to protect the identities and rights of those who come forward to expose corruption.
  3. Community Participation: The Gram Sabha encouraged the active participation of the local community in promoting integrity and ethical behaviour. The Vigilance department underscored the role of the community in acting as watchdogs against corruption.
  4. Interactive Sessions: Attendees had the opportunity to engage in interactive sessions, ask questions, and provide feedback. This open dialogue facilitated a better understanding of the challenges related to corruption and how it can be combated effectively.

Speaking on the occasion, the officials of Vigilance department expressed their commitment to strengthening the bond between RINL and the local community. They stated, “RINL, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, is dedicated to promoting a culture of integrity and transparency. We firmly believe that by working together with the local community, we can combat corruption effectively. Our Vigilance Department is here to support and educate the community in this endeavour.”

The Gram Sabha organized by RINL’s Vigilance Department is a testament to the organization’s ongoing efforts to build a society free from corruption. Through these initiatives, RINL is committed to creating a brighter and more equitable future for all.

Shri Sanyasi Naidu, Gram Sarpanch, Principal and management committee of the School and a large number of people and students from the village have actively participated in the Gram sabha and made the event very successful.
