Vizag Steel Executives Association General Secretary Meets Chief Secretary Of Andhra Pradesh

Difficulties being faced by employees, widow pensioners, pendency in wages and pensions were discussed in detail

Vizag Steel Executives Association General Secretary, KVD Prasad, met Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Vijayanand in AP Secretariat, today and briefed him about the current situation in Vizag Steel, in particular regarding the difficulties being faced by employees and widow pensioners as their wages and pensions are kept pending since past 4 months.

Further, he submitted a representation requesting the Andhra Pradesh government to support RINL Vizag Steel by giving Rs 2000 crore as advance (Rs. 500 crore for four months) in return to take quality steel products for state government projects like Amaravati construction and housing for the poor. In fact the proposal was given to the previous government in June 2023, one man committee appointed by the then government and the committee submitted a report in favour of the request in 2023 August. Unfortunately it was kept aside since then.

He also requested for the merger of RINL with SAIL, which will be a permanent solution for all issues of RINL. The Chief Secretary, who gave a patient hearing to the appeal, assured to convene a high level meeting soon on these issues and said that he would also take up these problems up with the Chief Minister.

Later, SEA General Secretary discussed the same issues with OSD to HRD and IT minister Nara Lokesh and requested to take these up with top priority. The same representation was also submitted in the AP state Finance principle Secretary office.
