Withdraw Misguiding Poster Published By DDP On 7 OFB Corporation – Federations Write To Secretary (DP)

How can a Govenment celebrate when it has decided to destroy the Nation’s pride that is the 41 Ordnance Factories, question federations

Yesterday DDP has published poster with the portrait of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which it is stated that the DDP is dedicating 7 New Defence Companies to the Nation to further self reliance. Actually so called 7 new companies are the existing 41 Ordnance Factories with 220 years long existence. This advertisement of the DDP has created an impression in the public mind that the Government has invested lot of money and have established 7 New Defence Companies which are going to generate employment in the country. The Federations of the Defence Civilian employees immediately reacted against this advertisement and have claimed that this advertisement is false and is misguiding the people of the country. In this regard they have issued a joint letter to Secretary(DP) asking him to immediately withdraw this misguiding poster advertisement.

They have also informed the Government on the same day when the new 7 non viable Corporations come in to operation the 75000 employees will observe Black Day by holding demonstration and boycotting their lunch. In this regard www.indianpsu.com asked for the reaction of C. Srikumar, General Secretary of All India Defence Employees Federation. He stated that “ how can the DDP use the photograph of the Prime Minister and publish a false and misguiding poster in the public domain. No new Factory has been established. The DDP has simply splintered the 41 Factories in to 7 non viable companies. The Government may be having an eye on UP and Uttrakhand election by showing such measures as their achievement and success. Their claim that these new 7 non-viable companies are going to generate employment is a farce. Already for the past 4 years recruitment is stopped in the Ordnance Factories. 104 Apprentices of OCF Shajahanpur in UP who are selected for appointment have been denied appointment and they are struggling. A substantial population of UP is adversely affected by this policy of the Government. Government and the officials in the DDP may celebrate Oct. 1st 2021 with lot of fanfare, but none of the Ordnance Factory employees, retired employees and their family members are going to celebrate. For them it is day of sorrow and a Black Day. How can a Govenment celebrate when they have decided to destroy the Nation’s pride that is the 41 Ordnance Factories.

The 76000 employees on that day will boycott the lunch. Let the officials in the DDP have a feast on that day and enjoy for doing this damage to the Nation. He stated that they will relentlessly fight against the Government’s decision. Both through Trade Union action and through legal battle.

Sir,

Sub : Request to withdraw the misguiding poster advertisement published by the DDP on the splintering of 41 Ordnance Factories into 7 Non-viable corporations – 76,000 Defence Civilian employees of Ordnance Factories and OFB Hqrs., to observe Black Day of Ordnance Factories on 01/10/2021.

We are very much shocked and surprised to note the false and misguiding poster advertisement published by DDP with the portrait of Honorable Prime Minister. It is stated in the poster advertisement that on 1st October 2021, 7 New Defence Companies is being dedicated to the Nation, whereas the fact is that Government has splintered the 220 years old Ordnance Factories Organization consisting of 41 Ordnance Factories into 7 Non-viable Corporations. Instead of telling the truth to the Nation, the DDP has published a false and misguiding poster and that too using the photograph of the honorable PM. We protest against this misguiding poster and request you to kindly withdraw the same immediately so as to rectify the mistake committed by the DDP .

This is also to inform you that the 76,000 Defence Civilian Employees of Ordnance Factories and OFB Hqrs., will be observing 01/10/2021 as Black Day of the Ordnance Factories and will boycott lunch on 01/10/2021 to register their protest against the injustice meted to them by the DDP.
