This year’s celebration will follow the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, reinforcing India’s ancient practice as a path toward universal health and harmony.
Yoga Week (June 15–21): A Citywide Celebration
The government has announced Yoga Week, a district-wide series of events from June 15 to June 21, culminating in the main celebration at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham.
The week will be inaugurated with a Surya Namaskar ceremony at the iconic Namaste sculpture on Namo Ghat, attended by administrative officials and public representatives. Yoga programs will simultaneously begin across other ghats of Varanasi.
Main Event on June 21 at Kashi Vishwanath Dham
The highlight of Yoga Week will be the grand event on June 21, where over 1500 participants are expected to gather at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham. The event will connect ghats, streets, and villages of Kashi in a vibrant and spiritual display of wellness and unity.
Training for Grassroots Yoga Ambassadors
To ensure the long-term impact of this initiative, one male and one female from each village’s Yuva Mangal Dal will be trained in the Common Yoga Protocol. These youth leaders will organize regular yoga sessions in their respective villages, helping sustain the benefits of yoga at the grassroots level.
