Powering Viksit Bharat 2047: Dharmendra Pradhan Launches Dual Degree MBA in AI & Business Analytics by IIM Jammu and AIT Bangkok
IIM Jammu and AIT Bangkok launch global dual degree MBA in AI & Business Analytics to advance AI-driven education
In a significant step toward strengthening India’s AI-driven education ecosystem and advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan formally launched the Dual Degree MBA Programme in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics — a joint initiative of Indian Institute of Management Jammu and the Asian Institute of Technology.
The programme was launched on 12 February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, during the Bharat Bodhan AI Conclave 2026, marking the first national convening of India’s AI-in-Education ecosystem. The conclave forms a foundational initiative under the Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Education at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras Bodhan AI Foundation.
Landmark Academic Collaboration
The collaboration was further strengthened through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 13 February 2026 between Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, and Professor Pai-Chi Li, President of AIT Bangkok. The agreement establishes a comprehensive framework for long-term academic cooperation between India and Thailand.
The MoU includes:
- Dual Degree MBA Programme in AI & Business Analytics
- Dual Degree Doctoral Programme
- Faculty, student, and staff exchange initiatives
- Joint research in management, technology, sustainability, and allied domains
- Professional certification programmes
- Collaborative conferences, seminars, and international study treks
Presence of Senior Leadership
The launch ceremony was attended by senior policymakers and academic leaders including Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar, Minister of State for Education Jayant Chaudhary, Secretary of Higher Education Vineet Joshi, Secretary of School Education & Literacy Sanjay Kumar, Secretary MeitY S. Krishnan, and Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras.
Senior faculty members and academic leaders from both institutions joined the MoU signing virtually, reflecting strong institutional commitment toward advancing international AI-led academic collaboration.
AI Education for Nation Building
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. B. S. Sahay emphasized that Artificial Intelligence represents a transformative force redefining leadership, governance, and industry. He noted that the programme aims to develop ethically grounded and technologically empowered global leaders capable of leveraging AI for inclusive growth and sustainable innovation aligned with India’s developmental aspirations.
Professor Pai-Chi Li highlighted that the partnership creates a strategic academic bridge between South and Southeast Asia by combining AIT’s strengths in technology innovation with IIM Jammu’s excellence in management education. The collaboration, he said, will promote high-impact research, entrepreneurial innovation, and global academic mobility.

The Dual Degree MBA programme integrates advanced AI capabilities with business strategy and analytics, reinforcing IIM Jammu’s commitment to internationalization, academic excellence, and innovation-driven leadership development.
