Bank of Baroda Launches bob Central Government Employees Salary Account under DFS Initiative

Bank of Baroda (BoB), one of India’s leading public sector banks, has launched the bob Central Government Employees Salary Account, in line with the Department of Financial Services (DFS) initiative to provide a comprehensive and specially designed salary account package for Central Government employees.

The new salary account package was unveiled by DFS Secretary M. Nagaraju and aims to offer a single-window banking solution that combines enhanced salary account features, extensive insurance coverage and premium card benefits for employees across all cadres of the Central Government.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda, said,
“Bank of Baroda is pleased to launch this composite Salary Account Package, designed to empower Central Government employees. It seamlessly integrates savings, loans and comprehensive protection benefits to deliver convenience, financial security and peace of mind across all cadres of Central Government employees.”

The bob Central Government Employees Salary Account offers a host of value-added benefits, including an instant inbuilt overdraft facility of up to ₹3 lakh, lifetime free premium debit and credit cards, and extensive insurance coverage. Account holders are eligible for free personal accident cover of up to ₹1.5 crore and free life insurance cover of up to ₹15 lakh.

In addition, the package provides significant concessions on retail loans, including up to 100 per cent waiver on processing fees and interest rate concessions. Customers can also avail up to 60 per cent discount on locker charges along with unlimited free banking services such as RTGS, NEFT and IMPS transactions, cheque books and SMS alerts.

The launch of this specialised salary account reinforces Bank of Baroda’s commitment to supporting government employees through tailored financial solutions, while aligning with the broader DFS objective of enhancing banking convenience, financial security and service excellence for Central Government personnel.
