Bank of Baroda Reinforces Commitment to Inclusive Growth in Mizoram

Executive Director Beena Vaheed meets Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma to strengthen developmental financing and banking outreach

Bank of Baroda has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening inclusive growth and strengthening developmental financing in Mizoram. Ms. Beena Vaheed, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda, met Pu Lalduhoma, Chief Minister of Mizoram, and Khilli Ram Meena, IAS, Chief Secretary of Mizoram, during her visit to the State.

During the interaction, Ms. Vaheed discussed how Bank of Baroda can continue to serve as a key financial partner in Mizoram’s developmental journey by enhancing credit flow, expanding banking infrastructure, and promoting financial inclusion. She reiterated the Bank’s resolve to strengthen its presence in the State through improved banking access and tailored credit solutions.

Bank of Baroda’s Credit–Deposit (CD) ratio in Mizoram stands at an impressive 87%, underscoring the Bank’s strong contribution towards credit deployment and economic activity in the State.

Ms. Vaheed also apprised the Chief Secretary about the progress made under the “Your Money Your Right” campaign launched by the Department of Financial Services, Government of India. The initiative focuses on refunding unclaimed deposits transferred to the RBI’s Depositor Education and Awareness Fund (DEAF) to rightful account holders or legal heirs. In this regard, she handed over details of DEAF accounts related to Government Departments and Institutions in Mizoram.

Khilli Ram Meena discussed the expansion of Bank of Baroda branches in key centres across the State to further improve banking access and expand the Bank’s footprint. He appreciated the Bank’s proactive efforts and assured full cooperation and support from the State Government.

Senior officials present during the meeting included Prabhat Sharma, Chief Operating Officer; S. P. Nayak, Zonal Head, North Eastern States Zone; and Sanjay Pratap, Regional Head, Guwahati Region.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Beena Vaheed said, “This visit reflects the Bank’s strategic focus on advancing credit flow, deepening financial inclusion, accelerating branch expansion, and fostering sustainable socio-economic growth in Mizoram. We aim to empower local communities through enhanced access to digital banking and tailored credit solutions that drive entrepreneurship, employment, and inclusive prosperity.”

Bank of Baroda continues to remain committed to partnering with State Governments across North-East India, including Mizoram, to drive financial inclusion, credit expansion, and sustainable development for long-term socio-economic impact.
