JRDA Officials Inspect Rehabilitation Works at Belgadia Township, Review Living Conditions

An inspection of rehabilitation works was carried out at Belgadia Township following directives from the Deputy Commissioner of Dhanbad-cum-Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Jharia Rehabilitation and Development Authority (JRDA).

The inspection team comprised Kumar Ranjeev (General Manager, Block-II Area), Sonam Sinha (Nodal Officer, JMP), Indra Lal Yadav (Assistant Manager, Mining), Ramesh Rawani (Revenue Inspector), and Jitendra Kumar (Area Inspector). The exercise was conducted under the guidance of Mukesh Kumar (Manager Civil, JRDA), Ravish Rawat (Assistant Manager, Civil), and Anil Kumar (JRDA).

Direct Interaction with Rehabilitated Families

A key highlight of the inspection was direct engagement with rehabilitated families. Officials interacted with residents to understand their experiences, assess their needs, and evaluate current living conditions.

Comprehensive Review of Infrastructure and Amenities

The inspection covered a detailed assessment of essential infrastructure, including:

  • Drinking water supply systems
  • Electricity and street lighting
  • Overhead water tanks
  • Skill development infrastructure

Facilities for both LTH and Non-LTH families relocated from JRDA sites were thoroughly evaluated.

Focus on Livelihood and Women Empowerment

Officials also reviewed livelihood initiatives, particularly mushroom cultivation and other activities undertaken by local women’s groups led by Soni Verma.

The team appreciated their efforts, interacted with the participants, and encouraged them by purchasing their products—highlighting a supportive approach towards sustainable livelihood generation.

Officials Resolve to Strengthen Rehabilitation Efforts

The inspection provided a comprehensive understanding of the existing facilities, operational systems, and the socio-economic transformation experienced by residents.
