BCCL Hosts Grand Finale of CIL Inter-Company Badminton Tournament 2026

The tournament featured more than 200 matches and saw participation from over 160 players competing across multiple categories

The prestigious CIL Inter-Company Badminton Tournament 2026, organized by Bharat Coking Coal Limited, concluded on a high note with a grand prize distribution ceremony held at Nehru Complex, Coal Nagar.

The four-day tournament (March 25–28) witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams representing various subsidiaries of Coal India Limited, making it a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Manoj Kumar Agarwal, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of BCCL, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He was joined by Director (HR) Murali Krishna Ramaiah, Director (Finance) Rajesh Kumar, CVO Aman Raj, along with senior officials, department heads, players, coaches, referees, and a large gathering of employees and spectators.

Members of Diksha Mahila Mandal, including President Archana Agarwal, Vice President Purbita Ramaiah, and Neeta Kumar, also attended the समारोह, adding to the grandeur of the event.

The closing day featured thrilling finals in the Men’s Doubles and Veteran Doubles categories, where players showcased exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

Addressing the gathering, Manoj Kumar Agarwal emphasized the importance of sports in today’s stressful lifestyle. He highlighted that sports not only promote physical and mental well-being but also foster discipline, leadership, and team spirit. He stated that BCCL takes pride in successfully hosting such a prestigious inter-company tournament and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to promoting sports and employee engagement.

He further noted that such events serve as an effective platform for strengthening coordination, camaraderie, and unity among employees of different subsidiaries of Coal India.

At the culmination of the event, dignitaries felicitated winners and runners-up across various categories with medals and trophies, applauding their performances and encouraging continued participation in sports.
