Union Minister interacts with startups at the 28th Energy Technology Meet in Hyderabad

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, emphasized that innovation will be the strongest fuel driving India’s energy independence, as he interacted with some of the country’s most promising startups at the 28th Energy Technology Meet (ETM) 2025, held in Hyderabad.
Highlighting India’s growing prowess in clean energy innovation, the Minister said that the nation is not just adopting clean energy technologies but creating them. “From carbon capture and catalysts to hydrogen, biofuels, and advanced battery chemistries, Indian innovators are developing home-grown solutions that will strengthen our refining sector and accelerate the transition to cleaner fuels,” he said.
The minister underlined that India’s goal is to become a global hub of innovation-led, low-carbon growth, driven by strong collaboration between Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), academia, research institutions, and startups. “We are ensuring that every idea finds a path from the lab to the market,” he added.
He further called on industry leaders to share real-time challenges with young innovators and recognise solutions through national platforms such as India Energy Week and the Energy Technology Meet, which serve as convergence points for ideas and opportunities.
Applauding the creativity and determination of India’s youth, he remarked, “The confidence, curiosity, and creativity of India’s young entrepreneurs give me great hope for the journey ahead.”
Reiterating the government’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat, the Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s energy future will be powered by indigenous technologies, sustainable innovation, and collaboration across the energy ecosystem.
