Jharkhand Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar Reviews Relief, Rehabilitation Work in Kenduadih Gas-Affected Area
Home Secretary Vandana Dadel, DGP Tadasha Mishra accompany Chief Secretary during on-the-spot inspection in Dhanbad

Jharkhand Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar visited the gas-affected Kenduadih area in Dhanbad on Saturday to review the ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures. He was accompanied by Home Secretary Vandana Dadel, Director General of Police Tadasha Mishra, and other senior state officials.
The high-level delegation conducted an on-the-spot assessment of relief operations, interacted with affected families, and issued directions to ensure timely and effective implementation of safety, medical, and rehabilitation measures.

The team first inspected the medical camp set up by Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) near Hindi Bhawan in the PB area. During the visit, the Chief Secretary reviewed the medical services, relief arrangements, and temporary housing facilities being provided to the affected families. Interacting directly with beneficiaries, he listened to their concerns and suggestions and appreciated the medical and humanitarian assistance being extended at the site. He instructed BCCL and the district administration to expedite the rehabilitation process and ensure all necessary facilities reach every affected family without delay.

Present during the inspection were BCCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Manoj Kumar Agarwal, Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan, BCCL Directors, regional officials, and representatives of the district administration. Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha was also present.
Subsequently, the Chief Secretary visited Belgadia Township, where he held a review meeting at the JRDA Phase-V Administrative Block and interacted with local residents. He inspected the residential buildings constructed for the rehabilitation of displaced families and reviewed the progress of supporting infrastructure. Expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of development work, he directed the district administration to complete rehabilitation within the stipulated timeframe.
Addressing the media, BCCL CMD Manoj Kumar Agarwal said that the company is carrying out relief and rehabilitation work in close coordination with the district administration and the state government, and is making every possible effort to ensure the safety, welfare, and rehabilitation of the affected families.

Earlier, upon their arrival in Dhanbad, the Chief Secretary and accompanying officials were welcomed with bouquets by senior officials. Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan, SSP Prabhat Kumar, BCCL Directors, and other senior officers from BCCL and the district administration were present on the occasion.
