NTPC Bongaigaon Observes National Energy Conservation Day
National Energy Conservation Day is observed on 14th December to raise awareness about the significance of energy and the need of conserving energy by using less energy

NTPC Bongaigaon joined the rest of the nation in observing National Energy Conservation Day at its plant premises, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable energy practices and environmental responsibility.
On the occasion, Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, administered the Energy Conservation Pledge in the presence of Anurag Gupta, General Manager (O&M). Senior officials, including Pravin Kumar Sahu, AGM (EEMG), along with officers from the EEMG Department and employees of the station, were present during the pledge-taking ceremony.
Highlighting the importance of judicious energy use in daily life, Arnab Maitra also led a walkathon in the township, aimed at spreading awareness on energy conservation, zero wastage, and the collective responsibility towards building a sustainable future. The walkathon emphasized how conscious energy consumption plays a crucial role in mitigating climate change and reducing dependence on non-renewable resources.

Speaking on the occasion, officials underlined that energy conservation remains one of the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly solutions to address energy shortages, while also supporting India’s transition towards renewable energy sources.
As part of the celebrations, various awareness activities such as painting competitions, essay writing, and slogan contests are being organised for employees, their family members, and children residing in the township, fostering a culture of sustainability from an early age.

Maitra also led a walkathon in the township which highlighted the use of energy judiciously in everyday life, ensuring zero wastage and spreading awareness about the importance of energy conservation for a healthy environment and sustainable future. Energy conservation is an important factor in lessening climate change. It helps the replacement of non-renewable resources with renewable energy. Energy conservation is frequently the most cost-effective solution to energy shortages, as well as a more ecologically friendly option than increasing energy output. Various activities like painting, essay competition, slogan are being organized for employees, family members and children of the township.
