NTPC Limited has been recognised as a Top Employer in India for 2026 by the Top Employers Institute, reaffirming its commitment to building a high-performing, people-centric workplace. This marks the fourth consecutive year that NTPC has received this prestigious certification.
The Top Employer certification reflects NTPC’s strong capability to foster an inclusive and engaging work environment through data-driven people strategies, independent validation, and progressive HR practices that support business performance, employee growth, and long-term engagement.
Active in 131 countries and regions, the Top Employers Institute is a global authority on HR certification, benchmarking, and advisory services. Organisations are assessed through the HR Best Practices Survey, which evaluates six key HR domains across 20 topics, including People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Diversity & Inclusion, and Wellbeing.
NTPC successfully completed the rigorous survey, validation, and audit process of the Top Employers Institute Certification Programme, securing its Top Employer status for 2026.

The recognition underscores NTPC’s philosophy of “People before PLF (Plant Load Factor)”, highlighting its emphasis on progressive HR policies, leadership development, and people-centric practices. Currently, NTPC operates over 87 GW of installed power generation capacity, with 32 GW under construction. The company has set an ambitious roadmap to scale its total capacity to 149 GW by 2032, including 60 GW of renewable energy, and further to 244 GW by 2037. This expansion plan entails a capital expenditure of approximately ₹7 lakh crore.
NTPC’s future growth strategy spans energy storage systems, pumped storage projects, nuclear power, green hydrogen, and chemicals, aligning with India’s clean energy transition goals.
