Jambusar Boat Incident; No ONGC Employees Were Onboard

Energy major states the vessel was neither operated nor supervised by ONGC; personnel belonged to Asian Energy Services Ltd. conducting a survey assignment

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has expressed deep concern over the tragic boat capsize near Asarsa village on the Jambusar coast in Bharuch district, Gujarat. The company has clarified that none of the personnel onboard the ill-fated vessel were ONGC employees.

In an official statement, ONGC emphasised that the vessel involved in the incident was neither operated, managed, nor supervised by the company. The individuals onboard were engaged by Asian Energy Services Ltd. (AESL) for a seismic survey assignment.

According to inputs received from the district administration, the boat overturned within seconds due to sudden and powerful tidal currents.

ONGC further noted that AESL is an independent energy services provider, executing seismic and related technical assignments for multiple clients across the energy sector.
