PNB Flags Off 2nd Edition of ‘PNB Soldierathon 2026’ in New Delhi; Over 26,000 Registrations Recorded

PNB Soldierathon 2026 has emerged as a powerful blend of fitness, community engagement, and tribute to India’s armed forces

Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of India’s leading public sector banks, successfully flagged off the 2nd edition of its flagship half marathon, PNB Soldierathon 2026 – Run With Soldiers, Run For Soldiers, at 5:00 AM today at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 26,000 registrations, reflecting strong public enthusiasm for fitness and patriotism.

Multiple Race Categories and Attractive Prize Pool

The Delhi leg of the marathon features three race categories:

  • 21.1 km (Half Marathon)
  • 10 km Run
  • 5 km Run

The event promotes inclusivity by catering to participants across all fitness levels. A total prize pool of ₹19.5 lakh has been announced, adding competitive spirit to the cause-driven event.

Special Metro Services for Participants

To facilitate smooth participation, special early morning services by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation were made operational from 3:00 AM onwards on the Yellow, Blue, and Violet Lines.

Participants wearing their bibs were also offered a one-time complimentary to-and-fro metro ride, ensuring convenient access to the venue before the flag-off.

Bib Distribution Expo Draws Enthusiastic Participation

Ahead of the marathon, PNB organized a three-day Bib Distribution Expo (April 2–4) at the Thyagraj Stadium.

The expo included interactive engagement activities for runners and was attended by senior leadership, including:

  • Ashok Chandra
  • Bibhu Prasad Mahapatra
  • D Surendran

They motivated participants and highlighted the significance of the initiative.

Virtual Marathon Expands Nationwide Participation

In a major step toward inclusivity and national outreach, PNB has also launched a Virtual Marathon, extending participation across India.

More than 1,00,000 participants from different branches and regions were expected to join virtually, choosing distances such as:

  • 1 km
  • 3 km
  • 5 km
  • 10 km
  • 21.09 km

This initiative reinforces the spirit of “One Team, One Marathon” while enabling citizens nationwide to pay tribute to the Indian Armed Forces.

PNB’s Tribute to Armed Forces

Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Kumar, GM (PR & CCD), PNB, said:
