CM Pushkar Singh Dhami expresses gratitude for central government support and relief package

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Uttarakhand on Thursday to take stock of the damage caused by the recent natural disaster, conducted an in-depth review of relief and rescue operations at Jolly Grant Airport.

During the review meeting, the Prime Minister took detailed information about the extent of damage across different regions and discussed the current status of rescue operations and future challenges with Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh (Retd.), Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta, MPs of the state, and senior officials.

Praising the efforts of state and central agencies, including NDRF and SDRF, Modi lauded the promptness and dedication shown in Dharali, Tharali, and other affected areas. He also interacted with the personnel engaged in relief work, listened to their experiences, and met disaster-affected families, assuring them of adequate assistance and support.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami briefed the Prime Minister on the scale of damage and ongoing relief measures. He noted that roads and public infrastructure have suffered extensive losses, and restoration work is being carried out on a war footing. “Full cooperation has been received from central agencies, which has enabled timely relief to the affected people,” the Chief Minister said.

On behalf of the people of Uttarakhand, Dhami expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister for announcing a relief package to compensate for the losses. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself came to Uttarakhand, shared the pain of disaster victims, and stood firmly with us. The state government is working with full capacity, and the central government’s constant support has been invaluable,” he said.
