Satyabrata Mukherjee Recommended as CMD of Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited
Mukherjee is currently serving as Director (Operations) at AVNL
The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), the government’s top headhunter for senior PSU appointments, has recommended Satyabrata Mukherjee for the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), a defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence.
Mukherjee, who is currently serving as Director (Operations) at AVNL, has been selected following a PESB selection process in which only two candidates were interviewed for the top position.
With extensive operational experience within the organisation, Mukherjee’s elevation is expected to provide continuity in leadership at AVNL, which plays a crucial role in manufacturing armoured vehicles and defence equipment for the Indian Armed Forces.
Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited is one of the seven defence PSUs carved out of the erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) as part of the Government of India’s defence reforms aimed at enhancing efficiency, accountability, and competitiveness in defence production.
Mukherjee’s appointment will be subject to the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
