14 Senior Bureaucrats Get Elevation At Centre

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the following appointments:

(i) Shri Arun Singhal, lAS (UP:87), Secretary, Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers as Director General, National Archives of India, Ministry of Culture in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India by temporarily upgrading the post to Secretary level.

(ii) Shri Anurag Jam, lAS (MP:89), Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry as Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways vice Ms. Alka Upadhyaya, lAS (MP:90) upon her appointment as Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying.

(iii) Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, lAS (KL:89), Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying as Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry vice Shri Anurag Jam, lAS (MP:89) upon his appointment as Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

(iv) Ms. Alka Upadhyaya, lAS (MP:90), Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways as Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying vice Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, lAS (KL:89) upon his appointment as Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal
Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

(v) Ms. Anjali Bhawra, lAS (PB:88), Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment as Secretary, National Commission for Minorities, Ministry of Minority Affairs in the rank and pay Of Secretary to the Government of India.

(vi) Shri Mukhmeet Singh Bhatia, lAS (JH:90), Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs as Chairperson, National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.

(vii) Shri Saurabh Garg, lAS (OR:91), Chief Executive Officer, Unique Identification Authority of India as Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment vice Ms. Anjali Bhawra, lAS (PB:88) upon her appointment as Secretary, National Commission for Minorities, Ministry of Minority Affairs.

(viii) Shri Abhilaksh Likhi, lAS (HY:91), Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare as Officer on Special Duty, Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. The officer will take over as Secretary, Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying vice Shri Jatindra Nath Swain, lAS (TN:88) upon his superannuation on 30.06.2023.

(ix) Ms. V. Vidyavathi, lAS (KN:91), Director General, Archaeological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture as Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Tourism in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. The officer will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Tourism vice Shri Arvind Singh, lAS (MH:88) upon his
superannuation on 31.05.2023.

(x) Shri Rakesh Sarwal, lAS (TR:88), Managing Director, National Waqf Development Corporation Ltd., Ministry of Minority Affairs as Additional Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs.

(xi) Shri Rakesh Rarijan, lAS (MN:92), Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education as Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

(xii) Shri Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, lAS (MP:96), presently in the cadre, as Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

The ACC has also approved in-situ upgradation of the following officers to the level of Secretary I Additional Secretary to the Government of India as a measure personal to them by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them:

(i) Shri Rajinder Kumar Kashyap, lPoS:89, Additional Secretary, Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice as Special Secretary, Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.

(ii) Shri A. R. Sule, lDAS:93, Joint Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy as Additional Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy.
