32nd VSGH Formation Day Celebrated At RINL

Medical collective of Visakha Steel General Hospital (VSGH), a 160 bedded hospital of RINL, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant celebrated its 32nd formation Day on 27.12.2023 Main conference hall of VSGH, RINL.
Shri Arun Kanti Bagchi, Director(Projects) & I/c. Director (Operation)s, RINL, was the Chief Guest and Dr.Umesh Mahantshetty, Director & Professor, Homi Bhaba Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India), Visakhapatnam was the Guest of Honour.
Shri A.K. Bagchi, in his speech appreciated the comprehensive health care services of VSGH being provided under the leadership of Dr .Prakash Kudur, Chief general manager (Medical & Health Service) to the employees and their families within their reach so that they need not travel all the way to city wasting time and money. He also termed the facilities made available in Ukkunagaram Township by RINL Management to its employees/residents is a goldmine which everyone of us should realise and work for betterment of the company. He also mentioned that VSGH has brought in savings on medical expenses by bringing in medical administrative reforms since the last 2-3 years which is reflected in the continuous reduction in Annual Budget utilization of the Medical Department.
Shri AK Bagchi presented Dr. Kuppachi Krishna Murthy Gold Medal for the best Doctor to Dr. M. Sujana, senior divisional medical officer, VSGH and another Gold medal as the best nurse to Ms. Annapurna, deputy manager (Nursing), VSGH.

VSGH has been extending medical services and during the 2022-23 Financial Year over 5.42 lakhs of patients [Out patients & Inpatients (OP&IP) ]were treated at VSGH. Apart from this 985 nos. of minor and major surgeries were performed at this hospital. Around 3800 patients (employees, employees’ dependants and CISF personnel) were provided super specialty treatment at RINL’s empanelled hospitals in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Vellore and Vijayawada.
Dr. K. H. Praskah, CGM (M&HS) & Head of the department (HOD)Medical Department in his welcome address outlined initiatives taken to improve the Medical and Health Services and other infrastructural facilities. Dr. Prakash thanked the Doctors and Paramedical staff of VSGH for their committed service towards providing the best medical care to the patients.
Dr. A.P. Naveen Kumar, GM (Gen. Med), Dr .J.N. Sarangi,GM (Pediatrics) & I/c-Medical Administration, other senior Doctors & Specialists, Para medical staff and Medical Committee Members were also present during the Formation Day function.
