The 42nd National Conference of All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) was held at Alappuzha in Kerala from 16th to 20th December 2022.
Established during the Year 1920, AITUC is the third largest Central Trade Union of our County.In the 42nd National Conference more than 1400 Delegates representing more than 2 Crore Workers of all Sectors participated in the Conference The Conference was inaugurated by Amarjeet Kaur General Secretary and more than 100 Delegates part in the Report placed by the General Secretary Amarjeet Kaur.
Based on the discussions 35 Resolutions including Withdrawal of Privatisation of Public Sector and Govt Sector,Withdrawal of Corporatisation of Ordnance Factories, Withdrawal of NPS,Minimum Wage Rs 21,000 , Pension for all workers, Filling up of Vacant Posts in all Govt and Public Sector, Withdrawal of Agnibath Aginiveer in Armed Forces, Worker Status to Scheme Workers, Withdrawal of 4 Labour Codes, Restoration of Senior Citizen Cobcessions in Railways, on the crisis of Kerala Traditional Industries like Coir, Cashew etc.
Apart from this the problems faced by IT Sector Emplotees, Workforce returned from abroad especially from Gulf Countries, MNREGS Workers problems, Pensioners problems etc were also discussed in the Conference. The Conference was greeted by Pampis Kyrtisis General Secretary WFTU and International Trade Union Leaders from Syria, Cyprus, Vietnam, Khazakhastan, Nepal, Srilanka and Portugal also greeted the Conference.
On the Concluding day of the Conference Ramendrakumar ExMP , was elected as President, Binoy Viswam MP as Working President, Amarjeet Kaur as General Secretary and AIDEF General Secretary & WFTU Dy General Secretary was elected as Secretary.
After the conclusion of the Conference a huge Workers meeting was held at Alappuzha Beach attended by more than a Lakh Workers.
