An old contract, a later ₹34-crore escalation and one unanswered question: who actually cleared the deal?
Forty-four days in the chair. A ₹138-crore contract. And today, the same officer sits in the CMD’s chair.
That little coincidence is enough to get PSU corridors buzzing.
The old file has suddenly become rather more interesting, questions are being asked!
The query doing the rounds is deliciously simple:
Who pushed the file, who cleared it and whose signature finally sealed the deal?
And then came the second serving: the contract reportedly swelled by another ₹34 crore later, after the officer had already moved on.
Now that the officer is CMD, an old ₹138-crore file has acquired a new lease of life in the gossip circuit.
Forty-four days. ₹138 crore. One old file. And plenty of unanswered whispers.
In PSU land, some files never really retire.
