Blood Donation And Tree Plantation Marks As Part Of Smruthi Divas At RINL

Steel Executives’ Association (SEA) of Visakhapatnam steel plant in association with the Lions blood bank and JCI Ukkunagaram chapter has organized a voluntary blood donation camp as part of ‘Smruthi Divas’ at SEA bhavan premises in ukkunagaram township to pay rich tributes to Steel melting shop-2 (SMS- 2) accident victims in 2012 in which unfortunate incident, 19 employees and contract labour lost lives.

Shri Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL lighted a candle and offered floral tributes to the departed souls. Shri Atul Bhatt also planted a sapling in the SEA Bhawan premises on the occasion.

Offering tributes to the deceased, Shri Atul Bhat, CMD, RINL highlighted the importance of strictly following the safety practices in any industry. Shri Atul Bhatt appreciated all the blood donors. Shri Atul Bhatt presented a shield to Steel Executives’ Association -SEA on behalf of Lions blood bank for conducting the blood donation camp. He appreciated SEA for organizing the blood donation camps to commemorate “Smruthi Divas” to pay homage to the departed souls.

Shri A.K. Bagchi, Director (Projects) & additional charge director (Operations), Dr. S.C. Pandey, Director(Personnel), Shri CHSRVGK Ganesh, Director (Finance), Shri GVN Prasad, Director (Commercial), RINL Shri A.M. Haneef, senior commandant, CISF, VSP, CGMs, HOD Safety, senior officials also paid homage to the departed souls and planted saplings in the SEA Bhawan premises.

SEA president Shri Katam Chandra Rao, General Secretary Shri KVD Prasad thanked the participants for donating precious 102 units. The blood collected through today’s blood donation camp was donated to the Lions blood bank. SEA representatives and committee members also participated in this program. Steel Executives Association also provided lunch to a renowned orphanage home “Loyola homes” at Pendurti.
