RailTel Corporation Of India, NHPC And Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Granted Navratna Status

Classification in Navratna category enables PSUs towards enhanced autonomy in financial and operational matters

SJVN (Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam): A listed company with 55% ownership by the Government of India, 26.85% by the Himachal Pradesh government, and the remaining 18.15% with the public. SJVN is based in Shimla and is primarily involved in hydropower generation.

NHPC (National Hydroelectric Power Corporation): Headquartered in Faridabad, NHPC is India’s largest hydropower development organization under the Ministry of Power. It has diversified into solar and wind energy, showing its commitment to expanding renewable energy capabilities.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd: A Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of Railways, RailTel is responsible for providing broadband and VPN services, primarily using the railway network’s fiber-optic infrastructure.
