Meeting called to discuss various important matters, including strengthening the Pension Fund
The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation convened a meeting today at Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad, to discuss various important matters, including strengthening the Pension Fund.
During the meeting, D. Ramchander Rao, President of the Singareni Retired Employees Welfare Association, and Venumadhav, Joint General Secretary, met with all BOT members and highlighted the pressing need for a revision of the current pensions being paid to coal mines pensioners. They emphasized that the pension scheme, which was introduced in 1998, has not been revised since its inception, leaving pensioners to live on the meager amounts sanctioned at the time of their retirement.
Vikram Dev Dutt, IAS – Coal Secretary, Chairman of the BOT – Rupinder Brar, IRS Government of India, Vinay Ranjan- Director Personnel, Coal India Limited (CIL), assured the delegation that the issues would be examined sympathetically. He promised to take necessary steps to strengthen the Pension Fund and consider the enhancement of the current pension amounts.
