Steel Executives Association And Retired Officers Bid Farewell To Regional PF Commissioners
SEA office bearers wished them success in their new roles and hoped for continued cooperation in the future
The Steel Executives Association (SEA) and retired steel officers organized a farewell ceremony for Regional PF Commissioner 1, Vijay Kumar Prasad, and Regional PF Commissioner 2, Pawan Kumar Jasti as they bid adieu to their tenure in Visakhapatnam and prepared to take on new assignments in Bhubaneswar and Bangalore, respectively.
The event, held in Visakhapatnam, was a gesture of appreciation for the pivotal role played by both officials in addressing key issues concerning the pension rights of steel employees.
Major Contributions in EPS95 Pension Resolution
During their tenure, Vijay Kumar Prasad and Pawan Kumar Jasti were instrumental in resolving the issue of EPS95 pension on full salary for employees of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP). Their efforts ensured that eligible employees received enhanced pension benefits, providing long-awaited relief and financial security.
Additionally, under their administration, the EPS95 higher pension under Class 11.3 in 2004 was successfully granted to 2,800 employees of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant who had applied for the higher pension scheme. The resolution of these matters has been widely appreciated by the employees, retirees, and various steel associations.
Leaders Acknowledge Their Service
Speaking at the farewell event, Visakhapatnam Steel Officers Association President, Katam SS Chandra Rao, expressed his gratitude, said “The dedicated service and proactive approach of Vijay Kumar Prasad and Pawan Kumar Jasti have brought immense relief to thousands of employees. Their efforts in resolving long-standing issues related to EPS95 higher pension will be remembered for years to come.”
General Secretary KVD Prasad said “Their commitment to ensuring that the rightful pension benefits reach steel employees has set a benchmark in governance. The employees of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant are deeply grateful for their contributions.”
Vice President T Srinivasa Rao, along with retired officers Duddu Srinivas, J A Swamy, Venkat Rao, and several other dignitaries, attended the farewell function. They collectively acknowledged the officials’ unwavering support for the cause of steel employees and retirees.

The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where the SEA representatives and retired officers presented mementos and tokens of appreciation to the outgoing Regional PF Commissioners. They wished them success in their new roles and hoped for continued cooperation in the future.
