Selected for CM's Prerna Sports Scholarship - Gifted a ₹11 Lakh Bicycle - Rajgir to Get World-Class Cycling Track

Bihar, once absent from the mainstream sports conversation, is now emerging as a rising force in Indian athletics. Leading this change is Suhani Kumari from Chhapra, whose recent achievement in the Individual Pursuit Cycling event at the Khelo India Youth Games 2025 has brought immense pride to the state. Her performance is not just a personal victory, but a powerful inspiration for thousands of girls across Bihar.

Suhani has been selected under the Prerna category of the Chief Minister Sports Scholarship Scheme, which provides financial support of up to ₹3 lakh annually to promising athletes. In recognition of her exceptional talent, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also gifted her a professional-grade bicycle worth ₹11 lakh.

This support is part of Bihar’s larger push to foster a vibrant sporting ecosystem under CM Nitish Kumar’s leadership. In the past two decades, the state has transformed its approach to sports, developing modern infrastructure, enhancing policy frameworks, and launching numerous schemes to support budding athletes.

Upcoming International Cycling Track in Rajgir

Bihar’s Rapid Strides in Sports

From international stadiums to block-level outdoor facilities, Bihar is investing heavily in infrastructure.
